Three Brethren from the North East Lancashire District travelled to London on Monday 15th October 2018 to receive promotions to the 31° Grand Inspector Inquisitor Commander and 30° Grand Elected Knight Kadosh, Knight of the Black and White Eagle at the Higher Degrees Meeting held at the Grand East, 10 Duke Street, St. James’s:
Ill∴Bro. Alex McLaren 31° – Rochdale St. Chad Chapter No.494 (also a Member of Rose of Lahore Chapter No.128 and Donald Maitland Davies Chapter No.1086 in the District of South East Lancashire)
Ill∴Bro. Paul Quinton 31° – James D Murray Chapter No.197 (also a Founder Member of Colne St. Bartholomew Chapter No.1073)
Ill∴Bro. Tony Cross 30° – James D Murray Chapter No.197 (also a Member of Colne St. Bartholomew Chapter No.1073)
As usual, the ceremony was followed by a drinks reception and an excellent festive board at the Royal Overseas League along with Ill∴Bro. Jack Aston 32°, the District Recorder for the North East Lancashire District and colleagues from the District of South East Lancashire, including Inspector General V∴Ill∴Bro. Royce Batters 33° and District Recorder Ill∴Bro. Rod Geeson 32°.
A particular highlight of the meeting, and an honour for our District, was the selection of Ill∴Bro. Alex McLaren as the Representative Candidate for the 31° ceremony and a place at the festive board top table next to the Sovereign Grand Commander, Most Puissant Brother Alan Englefield 33°.
